When you choose to build a new home at Green Key Village, you become a part of an active, inclusive community that cares about you like family. Our residents love interacting with each other through social events and clubs, and fostering connections over shared interests and passions.
It’s no surprise that members of our Social Committee (the friendliest people around!) put together a food drive to support others over the holidays. We spoke with residents John and Gracia about their experience building a new home with us, what they love about living here, and what they accomplished with this year’s food drive!

Why did you decide to build your new home with Green Key Village? How was your experience throughout the construction process?
First and foremost, we were drawn to the solar design of the homes. We also really liked the setting of the whole area, especially the amount of space and trees, as well as the unique architecture. On top of that, we really bonded with Kim and Greg, and admired their vision of a community where everyone interacts with each other. We bought our home over 6 years ago (we were the 7th homeowners here!) and everyone was so great to work with. The team made sure to incorporate our updates and make our dream a reality.
Which floor plan do you live in? What do you love most about it?
We went with the 1-story Emma, particularly because we didn’t want anything too big, and it had similarities to our previous home. It was also easy to make changes to suit our preferences. We recently decided to enclose a screened-in lanai — which came in handy around Covid, because we now have another space to utilize!
What amenities and clubs do you enjoy at Green Key Village?
The amenities and clubs are the best! We go to the pool and park when it’s warm, and we especially enjoy the Friday social gatherings. It’s nice to just sit around the fire pit and chat — people bring beverages if they want. This is where we came up with the idea for the food drive.
Tell us more about the Social Committee.
Everyone on the committee feels close to one another, and we’re always ready to work on an event. Our goal is to provide inclusive, fun, and safe events to foster neighborhood pride. We have a lot of talented and experienced people who are willing to jump in and help!
I (Gracia) am the chair of the Social Committee, and I run the meetings where we create agendas. I love every part of it, from coming up with ideas to putting out flyers around the community to introduce events. I also put together a monthly newsletter that shares results about the events. This encourages others in the community to come up with new ideas.
Tell us about the food drive!
Especially this year, we really wanted to support a local food bank. We received a $250 donation from a fraternal benefits society that we used as seed money, and we raised an additional $315! We were able to make 81 full meals for Christmas. About 21 families from Green Key Village participated, and we accumulated 250 donated cans of food.
Would you recommend Green Key Village to friends and family? What would you tell them?
Absolutely. We rave about the community and recommend it to everyone. Residents here get along so well, and even during these difficult times, it still feels inclusive. It’s such a special community, especially with the emphasis on solar and the unique styles and colors of the homes.
All of us at Green Key Village want to thank John and Gracia for the positive energy they bring to our community! We love hearing about all the ways our residents enjoy getting involved and fostering connections with each other.
